Hebden Bridge is on the Yorkshire side of the Pennine Hills. Established as a wool mill town, it was repopulated in the '70s - '80's by artists and writers and, more recently, by those wanting to escape city life. It has even been described as 'the 4th funkiest town in the world'. A short distance from the town centre, you can walk by the river in one of the many wooded valleys or ramble across heather moorland.
